Lancia 2000 Sedan

One of the last of the Flavia series with flat four engine, these Lancia saloons remain seriously underrated. They have a real ‘hewn from the solid’ quality feel about them that belies Lancia’s later reputation (in the UK at least).
This particular example is a seriously cool car in fantastic condition. It is superb underneath as well as on top and doesn’t appear to ever have needed any restoration of the underside. In addition, the interior is wonderfully original and patinated. It even has the original (?) Grundig radio. It drives well having benefited from a new exhaust system and some other fettling since we purchased it direct from Italy.
This is a 2000 series car with carburettor and starts readily. It has the typically Lancia dog leg gearbox and is what one might call a ‘willing performer’.
Once imported, the car went through the NOVA system and has then been UK registered. It has copies of the original Italian documents showing that it was supplied new in Mantova, home of Tazio Nuvolari!
This car forms part of a consignment from McGrath Italian to Brightwells auction on September 26th.
