Details

This stunning Alfa was imported by McGrath Italian in 2016 from the South of Italy. It had 32,000 kms on the clock when we found it and had been holed up in an old garage for a number of years. It was very dusty but underneath the dust was a real treat – a corrosion-free 155 with no damage and an almost perfect interior.

Once back in the UK, the car visited our painter, who corrected some sun-damaged areas of the stunning Alfa 130 Doppio Strato paint. While in dry dock, we also took the opportunity to diamond cut and powder coat the original Speedline Alloy wheels and fitted new tyres. Once back and thoroughly valeted, the car then went to the well known firm of Auto Integrale near Reading, who carried out the all important major cam belt service, including balance belt, tensioners, all fluids, new brake discs and pads all round, new flexi brake hoses, plus new sump gasket and clutch slave cylinder. A first MOT in the UK was then carried out prior to registration. In the meantime, we applied for a Certificato Di Origine from Alfa Romeo Classiche and then proceeded to register it in the UK.

The car was built in 1994, one of only 2,700 or so Q4 models out of the 192,000 155 series cars made. It was first registered in Italy and we have copies of the Italian registration document and PRA document on file. There is little other history with the car, but then that is what you expect with such low mileage examples. However, this also means that we cannot warranty the mileage. One look at the interior was enough to convince us though, as the Recaro sports seats look immaculate with only the slightest deterioration of the driver’s outer bolster (as the pictures show).

Using the running-gear from the Lancia Delta integrale 16v gives the car tremendous performance and handling but feels like a more refined package on the road. And at a fraction of current integrale prices.

Only a handful of Q4s made it to the UK and they rarely come up for sale in this kind of condition.
